The earliest settlement known as Dubai town dates from 1799, located south of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula. Now it is the second-largest land territory by area of all the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates, after Abu Dhabi. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the only two emirates to have veto power over critical matters of national importance in the country's legislature. It also have the largest population.

When the oil was discovered in 1966, the emirate of Qatar set up a new monetary unit to replace the Gulf Rupee. The oil economy led to a massive influx of foreign workers, quickly expanding the city by 300% and bringing in international oil interests. Then, in 1979, it was built a free trade zone around the Jebel Ali port, allowing foreign companies export capital and unrestricted import of labour. No mather the 1990 Gulf War, the city recovered and gradually get back the international depositors and traders to become one of the Mid-East fastest developing economies and a modern luxury travel destination.
When you are in Dubai, you can visit the Dubai Museum or you can see the only Mosque allowing non-Muslims to enter - The Jumeirah Mosque. Visit the under construction to be the Worlds tallest building Burj Dubai, the stunning Sheikhs Palace with peacocks welcoming you, and many many more! You can make a stop at the Spice Market, or better - the banks in the city center to get some fastcash and then you can take an Abra, a water taxi, to see the Worlds only 7-star hotel Burj Al Arab.
